How to Request Repeat PrescriptionsTest ResultsAnte-natal CareFamily PlanningCervical SmearsNew Patient Health ChecksChild Health SurveillanceImmunisations / Travel VaccinationsMinor SurgeryMedical ExaminationsDietitianSpecialist ClinicsHow to Request Repeat PrescriptionsIf your doctor agrees that you need regular medication the details will be entered on our computer and you can request repeat prescriptions by indicating the items you require on the perforated slip attached to the prescription and returning it to us. You can do this by posting it, bringing it to the surgery or by taking it into any of the local pharmacies. YOu cna then collect your prescription or the medicines 48 working hours later. If you would like us to post your prescription, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Whichever method is preferred, please give at least 48 hours notice. If you are on long term medication your doctor will wish to review this at least once a year. The review date can be found on the perforated slip. Please help the doctor to keep a check on your condition by contacting the surgery when requested. Test ResultsIf your doctor has referred you for a pathology test or x-ray, please telephone for the result in 10-14 days and call between 11.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., or between 2.30 and 3.30 p.m. when the telephone lines and the staff are less busy. The number to call for test results is Epping 566501. Ante-natal CareProvided by each doctor at the main surgery and some doctors at branch surgeries. Family PlanningProvided by all doctors and nurses. Please ask for a family planning appointment Cervical SmearsEvery woman between the ages of 20 and 65 should have a cervical smear taken every 5 years. If you have not had one for over five years please arrange an appointment to see one of our nurses as soon as possible (2 weeks after a period) New Patient Health ChecksAll patients registering with us for the first time are offered a health check, either by a nurse or a health care assistant. Please provide details of any illnesses in the family. Child Health SurveillanceWe have a child health surveillance programme for children under 5. The programme involves periodic check-ups by doctors or Health Visitors. Immunisations / Travel VaccinationsOur practice nurses can give babies and children all the necessary vaccinations. They also give tetanus vaccinations to adults and vaccination against influenza for at-risk patients. The nurses can advise travellers on any protection they may need. Minor SurgerySome minor surgical procedures are carried out on the premises, mainly by Dr. Ashford and Dr. Rana. Medical Examinationse.g. for driving, insurance, sports - a fee may be payable. DietitianA fully qualified dietitian holds weekly clinics. You need to see your own doctor first. The dietitian also consults at the diabetic clinic. Specialist ClinicsWe hold a number of specialist clinics including diabetes, asthma, well woman and cardiovascular, as well as a colo-rectal clinic. Your regular doctor can refer you to one of these clinics. |
