LimesCare

The doctors meet regularly with members of the Primary Health Team to provide an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to the needs of the community. Our aim is to improve patient service by offering integrated working practices across the whole spectrum of primary care, in order to reflect the continually chaning nature of primary care. As more and more people are now being cared for in the community rather than in hospital, so the skills of the Primary Health Care Team need to be continually developed and expanded. We have close links with the Epping Sports Centre exercise referral programme.

The people involved in LimesCare include the following:

  • Community Midwives
  • Community Psychiatric Nurse
  • Dietitian
  • District Nurses
  • Health Visitors
  • Leisure and exercise experts
  • North Essex Health Promotion
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Optometrists
  • Pharmacists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Psychologist
  • Social Workers

LimesLink

Our patient participation group provides a link between the practice and our patients. All patients are welcome to attend the quarterly meetings, and the dates are advertised in the surgeries. The LimesLink Newsletter is available from the surgeries, local pharmacies, care homes and Epping Sports Centre

General Practitioner Training Scheme

Fully qualified and experienced hospital doctors train as family practitioners and take their own surgeries on a regular basis. They are given the title of GP Registrars. Some consultations are recorded (with the patient's consent) for teaching purposes.

Nurse Practitioner Training Scheme

We are developing a programme for ongoing training of nurse practitioners in conjunction with the University of Essex and North Essex Health Authority. We are also recognised for the training of qualified nurses in family planning, and they take part in family planning clinics.
